PCC7421 strain
Lineage
- Prokarya
- Cyanobacteria
- Chroococcales
- Gloeobacter
- violaceus
Strain information
Phycobiliprotein types: PC+PEI
Pigment type: 2
Habitat: Rock
Remark: The chromophorylation of the PE of this strain is controversial. Indeed Bryant et al. (1981) reported that the alpha subunit would bind 3 PEB and the beta subunit 3 PEB and one PUB, whereas CpeA and CpeB sequences have no additional binding sites as other PEs. No obvious candidate for a lyase-isomerase was found in this genome.
